“Grace Looks Amazing On You” ~ A Book Review

What if today is the perfect time to notice God’s grace in one another? I was able to connect immediately with the heart of Amy Seiffert in “Grace Looks Amazing On You” when I began reading this 100-day devotional. This book has become a favorite immediately that I am excited to begin using with the Joyful Journey Community.

But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face,  so that it will not be obvious to others that you are fasting, but only to your Father, who is unseen; and your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. Matthew 6: 17-18 (NIV)

Fasting is a discipline that changes your heart and allows you to quiet of your soul and commune with the Lord. Amy’s revelation where she realized that the praise and recognition from others rather than the King of Kings were affecting the issue of her heart. How often have we set out to do something with a sincere motive, but the enemy will distract us and we start to seek glory for ourselves? I have been guilty of this behavior and required repenting.

Fasting and praying allow the Holy Spirit to convict us in areas of our life that only the GRACE of God can repair.

Women are so often weighed down by comparison, anxiety, and fear that the idea that grace could look amazing on them feels unbelievable.
