How to Speak Life Into Your Situation

Life and death lies in the power of the tongue ~ This is a much needed reminder that God will provide all we need. We can speak life into all situations that may come. I remember attending church as a child and hearing those words, “speak life into your situation” or “speak it into existence.”

I’ve been paying attention recently to the comments that people make and to everything around me. I’m always listening and paying attention so I can connect to what is going on in a person’s heart.

… For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. Matthew 12:34

Surrounded by hurt and grief during these past weeks when lives have been lost and silenced due violence, I find an even greater urgency to Speak Life over black men, women and children. Our words have power.

What kind of words are we speaking? Are we speaking life?

To speak blessings in their lives for those that are making a sacrifice by voicing the injustices that are happening in the Black Lives Matter Movement. Words are powerful and to use the Word of God to overcome the situation that our nation is facing requires knowing how to speak life.

HOW DO YOU SPEAK LIFE INTO YOUR SITUATION?

There are hundreds of books out there to tell you how to get what you want in life and the XYZ , 123 steps. However, the principle of what is being taught goes back to the Bible. The just say it differently. God’s Word is true and He is the best orator I know! All you need to do is first, start believing in God! Period. Have you accepted Christ as Your Personal Savior?

Make a conscious and intentional effort to speak life over every area of your life, speak life over your children, your family, and friends.

“The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it
will eat its fruit” Proverbs 18:21

WHAT DOES GOD SAY ABOUT SPEAKING LIFE?

God tell us to not to be worried and not to be afraid. He says, “Fear no!” and “Be anxious for nothing.” My son entered the room with great concern about moving to the states saying, “another black man has been killed”. Son, don’t give worry a voice as you begin to live a new life in the states. Always use wisdom and trust God. Don’t allow fear to control you, Believe God as a Black Man and Speak Life into Existence. As we release our children to attend college in the USA, I will continue to speak life over my children and use Psalm 91 to remind myself that God is with them and will bless them.

HOW DO YOU COMMAND GOD’S BLESSING?

When we honor God with our lives, God will command His blessings upon us. When we walk together in unity, God will command a blessing. It may be difficult during this time of discourse to seek harmony, but it is an act of obedience to God. Living in harmony does not mean we will agree on everything: but we must pursue it. Harmony builds us up and draws us to the Lord, it helps us to cooperate with one another and it renews our minds and hearts so we can speak words of life.

“How wonderful and pleasant it is when brothers live together in harmony! For harmony is as precious as the anointing oil that was poured over Aaron’s head, that ran down his beard and onto the border of his robe.  
Harmony is as refreshing as the dew from Mount Hermon that falls on the mountains of Zion. And there the Lord has pronounced his blessing, even life everlasting.” Psalm 133:3

Isn’t this an amazing thing? That if give and live in unity along with walking in obedience to God’s Holy Word, we can have the blessings of God upon us and speak those things into existence.

HOW TO SPEAK WORDS OF LIFE

Begin by using scripture and repeating them every day. Refuse to allow the enemy to plant seeds of doubt, negativity or worry in your thoughts. Change your focus to God because He already has it figured out. And you need to be very careful about the words you speak out.

Begin by Speaking these 7 Things into Existence:

1. And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Phil. 4:8
2. You can pray for anything, and if you have faith, you will receive it. Matt. 21:22
3. Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, “Be taken up and thrown into the sea, and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him. Mark 11:23
4. But he answered, “It is written, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God. Matt. 4:4
5. So shall my word be that goes out from my mouth, “it shall not return to me empty, but is shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it. Isaiah 55:11
6. For the Scriptures say, “If you want to enjoy life and see many happy days, keep your tongue from speaking evil and your lips from telling lies.” 1 Peter 3:10
7. Pleasant words are a honeycomb, sweet to test and health to the body. Prov. 16:24

All to often we pick and choose what we want to apply to our lives from the word of God to benefit us. The Bible is very clear on how to speak life over our situation and into existence. If our words have power, then why aren’t we using them?

I believe we all want a blessed life, we all want to see a nation that loves ALL people ~ change not be at this moment, but I have HOPE and believe that if I keep speaking life over the situation. LIFE WILL PREVAIL.

I was raised in a God-fearing home where I was taught that if I Believed and kept Faith ~ I could move mountains. I could speak a Blessing in my life.

It’s because Words have POWER.
