Pray For Your Husband, It’s Not That Complicated

I was a little irritated when my friend told me that I needed to pray for my husband. I did pray for my husband, so why did she think I didn’t pray for my husband.  But honestly, praying for my husband had become one of those items on my check the box list.

Could this idea she was sharing really be important?  He wasn’t deployed or TDY, sick and we were not in crisis mode, so why was this so important.  Well friend, I decided to begin praying for my husband and it has made an amazing difference in our marriage. 

When I began praying for my husband intentionally, I began to witness a change in myself. Don’t get me wrong, my husband was becoming a different man right before my eyes. His attentiveness and spontaneous ideas to keep us connected as a couple brought joy to my heart.

Our husbands are not only faced with the responsibility to provide for his household, but the enemy is constantly placing temptations in his path. This can become overwhelming.

Pornography, substance abuse, gambling, adultery and more are destroying marriages at an all-time high. Your spouse deserves to have his wife praying for him daily. Your prayers and support make an amazing difference in his life.

Praying for our husbands provide protection over his spirit, mind, and body.  

Our husbands are the head of the household and we want his heart and mind to be led by the Holy Spirit to make wise decisions for our family.

For a husband is the head of his wife as Christ is the head of the church. He is the Savior of his body, the church. Ephesians 4:23

Praying for my husband daily created a deeper level of trust and respect in our relationship. Our disagreements went from days of the silent treatment, sleeping on the sofa, and slamming doors. Have you been there? Well, I have, and let me tell you, it’s a breath of fresh air to reach resolutions sooner and walk in the obedience of God. This kind of behavior was not Godly ~ don’t stay on that path!

Yes, friend, praying for my husband was made the difference.

By praying for my husband intentionally, the trust issues I had been carrying since adolescence allowed me to develop a newfound trust in him and the spiritual growth of our family. We were setting an example for our children.

Girlfriend, this brought new meaning to the scripture, Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord.” Ephesians 5:22.

To be honest, my Type “I” Personality was not very submissive, thank God I have a new mindset and I’ve learned how to be the best helpmate for my husband.
